YEREVAN. - Be serious about revolutions, they are very dangerous, head of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) faction, Vahram Baghdasaryan, told Armenian News – NEWS.am, referring to the statement made by Heritage Party leader Raffi Hovannisian.

Earlier, at the party congress on Sunday, Hovannisian stated that if Serzh Sargsyan continues to rule the country after 2018, they will make a velvet revolution. The Heritage leader also noted that in the future they will create an extra-parliamentary front, uniting the political forces.

''Please be serious about revolution: It is a very dangerous thing, there being no ground for this in our country,'' Baghdasaryan said.

Asked whether he rules out that at some point former FM Vartan Oskanian, former defense minister Seyran Ohanyan and Raffi Hovannisian will make steps in this direction, he noted: ''That is their will. I don't know whether these three political figures will remain in the political field or not, since I doubt that they can continue the path together. I have repeatedly mentioned that the blocs created without ideological basis have short life.''

The MP claimed that the people, who are in power but are dissatisfied with it, won't join the extra-parliamentary opposition front, since they manage to solve the issues within the authorities.

''When having such concerns, we are able to smooth them inside. After all, the public responded to that dissatisfaction during the election,'' he said.

Vahram Baghdasaryan also stressed that they treat the extra-judicial forces seriously. ''We take all the political forces—extra-parliamentary and parliamentary—seriously, but treat their statements and opinions with reservations, since ungrounded statements can result in the lowering of reputation. They do not form the force, which will be able to create a consolidation,'' the MP added.

To our observation that the authorities also had reservations about the statements of Sasna Tsrer armed group, who were preparing for an armed riot, which did take place in the future, the RPA representative responded: ''They were directed people and are serving their respective punishment. We reiterate that we are not guaranteed...but some zealot may wish to take such actions.''
