Within the framework of its visit to the Slovakia, the Republic of Armenia National Assembly (RA NA) delegation, led by NA Vice President Eduard Sharmazanov who also heads the Armenia-Slovakia parliamentary friendship group, on Friday met with Deputy Speaker Béla Bugár  of the National Council of the Slovak Republic.

The delegation members reflected on Armenian-Slovak parliamentary cooperation, the NA informed Armenian News-NEWS.am. “The development of Armenian-Slovak parliamentary relations stems from the interests of our countries,” Sharmazanov noted  in this regard.

The interlocutors underscored effective cooperation of the parliamentary delegations of the two countries within international platforms, and stressed that there are wide opportunities for collaboration.

Also, the parties discussed the Karabakh conflict, Armenian Genocide, and Armenia-European Union relations. 

In addition, Sharmazanov awarded the RA NA Medal of Honor to Bugár, and in recognition of his considerable contribution to the strengthening and development of ties between the Armenian and Slovak parliaments.
