YEREVAN. – Armenia can use Poland's experience in the area of local self-governance and civil society development, head of EU delegation to Armenia Piotr Switalski said during a round table event in Yerevan.
He emphasized that the visit of a strong team from Poland is very important for Armenia.
“Poland can be proud of local self-governance and civil society. I am happy that the team is here as Armenia can learn much,” he said.
Armenia still has a centralized system, but the Armenian government is thinking about expanding the competence of local self-government bodies, the diplomat said.
“A strong civil society is a very important factor,” he said, adding that the Armenians are good at learning something new.
Armenia is hosting a Polish delegation, which includes experts in the sphere of civil society, as well as businessmen who plan mutually beneficial cooperation in the fields of construction, agriculture and information technologies.
