YEREVAN. – Republic of Armenia National Assembly (RA NA) President Ara Babloyan on Tuesday received Bulgarian Ambassador Maria Pavlova Tsosorkova-Kaymaktchieva.
Babloyan stressed the age-old friendship and cultural connections formed between the two countries, which is a basis for the development of Armenian-Bulgarian relations, NA informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.
Also, he highlighted the role of parliamentary diplomacy in the strengthening of bilateral relations and deepening of cooperation.
In addition, the speaker of the parliament touched upon the constitutional reforms implemented in Armenia, and noted that the country has passed to a system of parliamentary government.
Furthermore, Ara Babloyan emphasized cooperation with Bulgaria within the framework of Armenia-EU relations.
In terms of regional matters, the RA NA speaker highlighted the balanced position of Bulgaria toward a pacific settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and in compliance with the respective shared position of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs and the EU.
Ambassador Tzotzorkova-Kaymaktchieva, for her part, lauded the relations between the two countries. In particular, she stressed the role of Bulgaria’s Armenian community in the strengthening of bilateral ties.
Also, the ambassador assured that during her diplomatic mission she will continue to do her best for further developing and deepening the formed relations.
In addition, the interlocutors emphasized the further expansion of cooperation between the two countries and development in several domains.
