The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Russia has demanded from Azerbaijan to stop discriminating against Russian citizens of Armenian descent, who arrive in Baku international airport, reported Interfax news agency.
According to the Russian MFA representatives, Russians of Armenian descent are kept longer than usual at this airport, and then they are forcibly sent back at their own expense.
“Russian citizens arriving in Azerbaijan are really discriminated against by ethnicity,” the MFA stressed. “Ever since the beginning of the year, 25 Russian citizens were not allowed to enter Azerbaijan.”
The Russian MFA representatives have called such practice “incompatible with friendly relations between the two countries.”
