Turkish President Abdullah Gul has addressed a letter to his U.S. counterpart Barack Obama, calling on his to prevent the approval of Resolution 252 by the U.S. House of Representatives.

In his letter the Turkish leader points out President Obama is well aware of the importance of bilateral relations. He hopes the Turkey-U.S. relations will not become hostage to the Armenian resolution.

In his letter, the Turkish leader expresses concern over the possibility of the U.S. Congress considering the resolution with respect to prospects of bilateral relations, Anadolu reports.

Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, is making efforts for the resolution to be put on the U.S. Congress agenda. However, her efforts have not yet produced any results.
