The Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission has approved new regulations for the import of goods by individuals, reducing ceiling on duty-free purchases in foreign online stores, Vedomosti reported.

The Association of Internet Trade Companies has been supporting the reduction and the introduction of VAT for purchases in foreign stores.

According to the decision of the council, dated January 1, 2018, the ceilings on duty-free purchases in foreign online stores is € 1,000 and 31 kg within one calendar month. From January 1, 2020, duty-free access will be reduced to € 200 and 31 kg. All time restrictions and quantity of orders will be removed.
