The Azeri authorities do everything is a special way – in the worst sense of the word. At least on the threshold of the New Year they might leave people in peace, without dinning their propaganda into them for the only purpose of strengthening the Aliyev clan.

But no. The authorities go beyond all borders. The “national leader” Heydar Aliyev invented a new holiday, Day of Solidarity of Azerbaijani throughout the World to be marked on December 31.

Just think of it! In the New Year fuss, when even Caucasian men make a “historic” decision to help their wives, the “national leader’s” successor Ilham Aliyev is bothering people with his Day of Solidarity.

Of course, the “wise” officials of the ruling party arranged and held all the festivities in the country’s regions beforehand, on December 28 or 29. However, in this New Year fuss, the national TV keeps on reminding people of some solidarity, which can hardly be perceived on Dec. 31.

But politicians, including the Aliyev clan, cannot spoil the holiday.
