YEREVAN.- Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has good chances to hold successful snap parliamentary elections, political scientist, the Director of the Yerevan-based Caucasus Institute, Alexander Iskandaryan.

According to him, after the revolutionary events in April of this year, the transfer of power was not completed, as Republicans are the most part of the National Assembly.

Iskandaryan stressed that the new authorities had absolute confidence in the victory in the snap parliamentary elections only after a successful election campaign to the Yerevan Council of Elders, when they managed to get impressive results.

“However, the rating of the authorities is unlikely to be higher than it is at the moment. Therefore, Pashinyan’s desire to hold elections now is understandable, ”the expert noted. “It can be argued that delaying the elections may undermine the positions of the current authorities,” Iskandaryan added.
