Over 100 doctors, nurses and healthcare employees were arrested on Medicare fraud charges on Thursday in nine U.S. cities, the Los Angeles Times reported.
Suspects arrested in Miami, Los Angeles, Dallas, Houston, Detroit, Chicago, Brooklyn, Tampa, Fla., and Baton Rouge, La are accused of cheating Medicare out of $225 million.
The Times of India reported at least six Indian-origin suspects are among 111 arrested. It is still unclear whether Armenians were among the suspects.
As Armenian News-News.am reported earlier, last year the Armenian gang headed by crime boss Armen Kazarian (nicknamed Pzo) was arrested in U.S. accused of cheating Medicare out of $100 million, the largest fraud by one criminal enterprise in the program’s history.
