OPEC Secretary General Mohammed Barkindo invited the US President Donald Trump to join the dialogue on restoring the balance of supply and demand in the global oil market, EuroNews reported.
Commenting on Trump's message on Twitter that oil prices are getting too high, and OPEC should “relax and take it easy”, Barkindo said that the US, as the world's largest oil producer, has a strategic share of global supply and demand.
According to him, the oil company is concerned sanctions against the two founding countries of OPEC - Venezuela and Iran - may complicate attempts to restore the balance in the market and maintain its stability.
