Rector of the Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture and Sport Vahram Arakelyan resigned today, as reported on the Institute’s Facebook page.

The rector’s application for resignation has yet to be approved by the Institute’s council in the month of August.

Arakelyan has served as the rector of the Institute for 20 years. In 1970, he graduated from the Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture. He obtained a PhD in Pedagogical Sciences in 2002 and has been a professor since 1996. He is author of nearly 200 scientific works, including 8 monographies, 6 training manuals and several scientific-methodical articles.
