Over 4.5 tons of cocaine confiscated in the Caribbean following a joint operation by Panama.

National Border Guard and the Colombian Navy, EFE reported referring to a statement by the Colombian Navy.

Colombian naval officers received information about a drug shipment that five Colombians transported on a fast boat heading for Panama.

Data on the whereabouts of the vessel were transmitted to the Panamanian border guards who intercepted the boat with contraband cargo. A total of 4.57 tons of cocaine were on board.

According to investigators, smugglers were sent to one of the Central American countries. They are detained and handed over to the police, TASS noted.
