A rare sapphire ring supposedly owned by Roman Emperor Caligula has been put on auction for 500 thousand pounds, Daily Mail reported.
The ring will be presented at an exhibition of more than 100 engraved gems at Wartski jewellers in London, the newspaper says.
The face engraved into the bezel is thought to be his fourth and last wife Caesonia.
