YEREVAN. – The Ministry of Defense (MOD) dictates to the Investigative Committee, and they even made the wounded soldier’s relatives feel against the relatives of the deceased serviceman. Hayarpi Sargsyan, representative of the legal successor of deceased Yazidi soldier Artur Ajamyan, told this to reporters today during the protest in front of the building of the government of Armenia.
Ajamyan had sustained a fatal gunshot wound at a Karabakh Defense Army military unit, and under yet unknown circumstances.
"They [the relatives of the wounded] think that the deceased soldier had wounded their son," Sargsyan added, in particular. "This version was provided from the Ministry of Defense, and the [wounded soldier’s] relatives are guided by that version."
Ajamyan's grandfather said he was present at the autopsy and saw traces of violence on his grandchild's body.
Shoving occurred between the police and the relatives of the dead soldier outside the government building. The relatives demand a meeting with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. During that commotion, the picture of the dead soldier was broken, and his relatives blamed a police officer for it.
The Investigative Committee informed Armenian News-NEWS.am that the investigation into the case of Artur Ajamyan is continuing.
