At least 47 people died as a result of Philippines Typhoon in the Philippines, another nine people are reported missing, Xinhua reported.

Previously, CNN Philippines reported 41 dead.

More than 1.6 million people suffered from the typhoon and over 260 thousand houses and about 90 state institutions were damaged as a result of the disaster.

The typhoon went on land on December 24.
