Malta's lawyer and MP Robert Abela has been elected the PM, TASS reported.
Abela, 42, was elected leader of the ruling Labor Party, which automatically makes him the country's prime minister. The new PMminister is the son of former President George Abela, serve from 2009 to 2014.
Former PM Joseph Muscat announced in December he would resign on January 12, 2020 amid the scandal on the investigation into the murder of journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia.
