YEREVAN. - The AMD/USD exchange rate averaged AMD 377.43 per $1 on NASDAQ OMX Armenia, on Friday, thereby beating the April 12 record (AMD 377.33 per $1).

The opening quotation was AMD 376 per $1, with an increased demand registered at the close. US Dollar sales totaled $5.95 million.

Unlike April 12, banks showed more caution in setting the exchange rate in purchasing US Dollars. By 3:30 p.m., none of the banks had a rate higher than AMD 376 per $1 against AMD 377 per $1 on Apr. 12.

The above suggests that banks have not any specific stance on further US Dollar exchange rate.
