YEREVAN. – The draft of the Public Administration Reform Strategy of Armenia was discussed today at the government with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

The Prime Minister noted that public administration reforms are very important.

"Our intention is that as a result of these reforms, the citizen of the Republic of Armenia will have as little discomfort as possible in relations with the public administration system," Pashinyan said. “To solve this problem, we need to be able to make the public administration system more appealing to high quality personnel who can accomplish this task in every way.

On the other hand, as a result of these reforms, we are tasked with making the public spending on public administration as efficient as possible so that those funds serve their purpose. And the goal is to make the life of people, businesses in the Republic of Armenia better quality, the provided services better quality, and the public administration system more citizen-centered.”

The subsequent discussion explored the scope and main directions of public administration reforms in Armenia.

In the context of the effective implementation of these reforms, the Prime Minister attached importance to defining clear evaluation criteria and instructed to continue developing the strategy.
