YEREVAN. – Hraparak daily of Armenia writes: Deputies of the NA [National Assembly majority] My Step faction spent the weekend in Dilijan discussing the controversial amendments authored by Vahagn Hovakimyan related to the NA Rules of Procedure, the CC [Constitutional Court] and the referendum laws.

Let us remind that an attempt is being made to pave the way for constitutional amendments without the opinion of the CC, and to form the desired CC—without [its current president] Hrayr Tovmasyan and others.

Not everyone participated in the meeting, which substantiated the doubts that they would not be able to get the 87 votes needed to pass the amendments [in parliament]. There have long been disagreements at My Step, and the ranks of those expressing disagreement has grown recently.

At the Dilijan meeting, Vahagn Hovakimyan, the “author” of the law, read a lecture to his teammates explaining his absurd proposal.
