This appeal is, first and foremost, addressed to the Constitutional Court because it constitutes an apolitical element of power. Vladimir Vardanyan, majority My Step faction MP and chairman of the Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs of the National Assembly of Armenia, told this to RFE/RL.
And asked whether, in this way, Venice Commission President Gianni Buquicchio was calling on Armenian Constitutional Court President Hrayr Tovmasyan to be restrained, Vardanyan answered: "We are talking about the processes that provide that the Constitutional Court and other representatives of the judiciary should refrain from any political processes."
