YEREVAN. – The sitting of the Council of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia was again postponed. Speaking to reporters, NA Vice Speaker Alen Simonyan noted that the sitting was postponed to add a new item to the agenda.

"It is the requirement of the NA Rules of Procedure to do it separately; that is, it was not possible to add a new item during this session," he noted. "That's why a new [NA] council meeting will be called."

Simonyan added that it will probably take place tonight.

"This has been the proposal of the [majority] My Step faction," the NA Vice President emphasized. “The law and the right have different opportunities; we have made use of these opportunities, and will continue to make use. I can tell our opponents that everything will be done within the law, as always done. There will be many and very interesting developments.”

The session of the NA Council was also postponed yesterday. It shall consider discussing at the special session of the NA the draft constitutional amendments tabled by the My Step faction, and which propose to terminate the tenure of president Hrayr Tovmasyan of the Constitutional Court and of some of the latter’s members.
