Today marked the highest ranking detention in the history of the Third Republic of Armenia. This is what Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan wrote on his Facebook page, touching upon the fact that Chairman of the Urban Development Committee of Armenia Vahagn Vermishyan was detained today. “Today marked the highest ranking detention in the history of the Third Republic of Armenia. The government isn’t joking when it says there is no place for corruption in our country. There are no former or current corrupt officials for us. Former or current, every corrupt official will face the court.”

Today, Chairman of the Urban Development Committee of Armenia Vahagn Vermishyan was detained on the suspicion of receiving a bribe in a particularly large amount.
