YEREVAN. – A criminal case has been launched over the death of Armenia’s contract servicemen who had died as a result of an avalanche.

A statement by the Investigative Committee of Armenia in this regard states that a criminal case was instituted under the Criminal Code article on a chief or an official’s negligent treatment of service, if negligently caused grave consequences.

An investigation is underway.

These contract servicemen—Private Karapet Nazaryan (born in 1991), Junior Sergeant Tigran Arzumanyan (born in 1994), and Junior Sergeant Nver Shahbazyan (born in 1995)—were found dead yesterday under snow.
