YEREVAN. – Vahagn Vermishyan, Chairman of the Urban Development Committee of Armenia, has been charged, the National Security Service (NSS) informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Also, a petition was filed with the court to arrest him.

As reported earlier, within the framework of a criminal case initiated by the NSS into taking large-scale bribe, the crime suspects were apprehended, two of them—including the chairman of the aforementioned committee—were detained.

Moreover, while being questioned as a suspect, this bribe-taking official confessed to committing the crime.

The investigation is still in progress.
