Touching upon the referendum for constitutional amendments, first Ombudsman of Armenia Larisa Alaverdyan told Tert.am that the incumbent authorities of Armenia are simply violating international principles and making Armenians similar to uncivilized tribes.

Larisa Alaverdyan says she doesn’t understand why the authorities want to make Armenia similar to Azerbaijan and compares this to an intentional crime. According to her, the group advocating the referendum for constitutional amendments will target everyone going against the referendum, including lawyers and human rights activists.

According to her, the authorities are holding a referendum to engage the people in an unlawful and unconstitutional process that contradicts all international principles and then say that they offered and the people made the decision.
