Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia Vahe Enfiajyan today received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Armenia Igor Nazaruk.

As reported the National Assembly, greeting the Ambassador, Vahe Enfiajyan underscored the friendly ties between Armenia and Belarus and proposed to adopt a memorandum dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War during the subsequent session of the Inter-Parliamentary Committee on Cooperation between the National Assemblies of Armenia and Belarus to be convened during this year.

Attaching importance to Vahe Enfiajyan’s proposal, Igor Nazaruk highly appreciated the Armenians’ significant contributions to the liberation of Belarus from Fascism and informed that a book entitled “Armenian Fighters in the Battle for Belarus During the Years of War” was released last year.

During the meeting, the parties touched upon the deepening of cooperation in several sectors and particularly considered the development of trade and economic relations as mutually beneficial. According to the Ambassador, in 2019, exports from Belarus to Armenia grew by 144%, and the export indicator of Armenia also grew. According to him, whereas the volume of trade turnover between the two countries was $50,001,000 in 2018, in 2019, it was $73,000,000.
