On behalf of former director of the National Security Service of Armenia Artur Vanetsyan, his lawyers have submitted a statement of claim to the first instance court of general jurisdiction of Yerevan against “DARESKIZB” LLC (Armenian Times newspaper) with the claim to publicly refute the information that, according the plaintiff, is defamatory information published in the article entitled “Do I have honor or not?” and posted on www.armtimes.com on January 12, 2020, remove the published article and oblige publication of the text of refutation, as well as the claim for compensation for non-material damage caused to honor and dignity, as reported Vanetsyan’s lawyer Lusine Sahakyan.
The statement of claim also states a claim for compensation for non-material damage in the amount of AMD 2,000,000 (two million) and, in case the court satisfies the claim, all the funds of the compensation for non-material damage will be geared towards charity.
Armenian Times newspaper had published an article that was entitled “Do I have honor or not? Mishik, Artur, Arik” and stated that Armenian Times newspaper has facts that a campaign is being held against Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s wife and daughter, Mariam Pashinyan and that the media outlets implementing the campaign are under the guidance of former director of the National Security Service Artur Vanetsyan.
