YEREVAN. – Past daily of Armenia writes: Recently, a court of general jurisdiction in Yerevan sentenced Armenian Hollywood producer Stepan Martirosyan to 5 years and 7 months in prison.

This criminal case has received widespread reaction in the [Armenian] diaspora. According to our information, a number of world-famous faces have even sent a letter to [PM] Nikol Pashinyan asking to review this case. The case is related to Vitaly Grigoryants, the owner of ArmBusinessBank.

Stepan Martirosyan is accused of fraudulently stealing another's especially large-size property (...), but the latter claims that Vitaly Grigoryants was able to “frame” Martirosyan thanks to his good relations with [ex-President] Serzh Sargsyan.

It should be noted that Stepan Martirosyan has for a long time been engaged in the United States in activities aimed at the recognition of Armenian Genocide, tried to establish contacts with famous filmmakers and thus publicize the Armenian Genocide. And the movie "The Promise" was shot because of his lobbying.
