From the perspective of climate change, Armenia is the most vulnerable country in the region. This is what Deputy Minister of Environment Irina Ghaplanyan said during a parliamentary session today.

According to her, between 1960 and 2019, the annual and average air temperature has risen by 1.3 degrees, and the problem with global climate change is starting to become a major issue for Armenia.

The deputy minister also informed that the Green Climate Fund has given a grant to Armenia through which an adaption project is being developed. One of the major directions will be raising citizens’ awareness about forest fires, most of which are due to the human factor.
