Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Avinyan today received Apostolic Nuncio of the Holy See (seat in Tbilisi) Archbishop Jose Avelino Bettencourt, as reported the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister.

Tigran Avinyan stated that the close cooperation between Armenia and the Holy See is hinged on not only Christian values, but also the common historical heritage and the similarity of approaches in terms of confronting various challenges in the modern world.

Deputy Prime Minister Avinyan and Archbishop Bettencourt also discussed the possibility of the establishment of a resident Apostolic Nunciature in the Republic of Armenia.
