Indian Agra mayor Naveen Jain has called on the central government to temporarily close all historical monuments for tourists throughout the country amid the coronavirus, NDTV reported

"Foreign tourists in large numbers visit Agra, this increases the chances of spread of coronavirus in the city. I urge the government of India to close all historical monuments in the country including the Taj Mahal till the time situation doesn't come under control," Mr Jain said.

According to the latest information, 31 cases of coronavirus infection were recorded in India, including 16 foreign tourists from Italy. All sick Indians visited various countries - China, Italy, Iran, the UAE, Malaysia, and Thailand. Three Indian patients have already recovered; there have been no coronavirus deaths in India.
