YEREVAN. - Suren Papikyan, the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia, on Friday kicked off a two-day working visit to Syunik Province, reported to the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure.

But the trip started in Ararat Province, where Minister Papikyan got acquainted with the process of overhauling the 9.1km section of the Artashat-Aygavan motorway.

The Minister started his working visit to Syunik Province from Sisian town, where he got acquainted with the completed and ongoing works under the government's subvention program.

Afterwards, Suren Papikyan headed to Goris, where followed the renovation program of the historic residential houses in the downtown area. "With the support of the World Bank, we are currently working hard to restore the historic core of Old Goris. Goris has its own place in the communities of the republic and aspires to become one of the most important cultural centers of Armenia,” said the Minister.

At the end of the working visit, Minister Suren Papikyan got acquainted with the improvement works at the Varpetats Village Arts Center and the adjacent area in Verishen village.

Within the framework of his working visit, Minister Papikyan also followed the construction of the sections of the M2 interstate road passing through Shurnukh and Davit Bek communities.
