YEREVAN. President of the Public Television of Armenia Aleksan Harutyunyan urged not to dramatize the failure of the Armenia’s representative at Eurovision Song Contest 2011. He called on Armenian people to support Emmy.

According to him, Armenia is not a loser at the Eurovison song contest. “Not every country could qualify for the final and get into top ten in such a short period of participation in the Eurovision Song Contest. What happened this year, can occur to any country,” he said, stressing Turkey, which is one of the most successful participants,  was also voted out of the Eurovision finals.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am reported earlier, Armenia’s representative at Eurovision Song Contest 2011 Emmy did not qualify for the Grand Final.

The First Semi-Final of the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest took place in the Dusseldorf Arena, with 10 out of 19 countries qualifying for the Grand Final.

Emmy performed her Boom-Boom. She appeared “in boxing gloves” on the stage. Four dancers from Greece visually shaped a boxing ring.

Ten qualifiers announced from the First Semi-Final are Serbia, Lithuania, Greece, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Switzerland, Hungary, Finland, Russia and Iceland.
