YEREVAN. Armenian first President, leader of the Armenian National Congress (ANC) Levon Ter-Petrosyan met with President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Petros Efthimiou in Yerevan on Wednesday.

The ANC leader stressed that the cooperation between Armenia and European agencies is not effective in terms of democracy strengthening, human rights protection, freedom of speech in Armenia, the ANC press service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am. In this regard, Levon Ter-Petrosyan recalled contradictory assessments of rigged elections in Armenia, the official results of which were not accepted by the ANC and the society.

The ANC leader also referred to political persecutions, killings and arrests of oppositional activists.

The sides also discussed ways to overcome current political and socio-economic situation in Armenia, particularly the possible dialogue if the Armenian authorities fulfill ANC demands, as well as necessity of snap elections in Armenia.
