The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned that the COVID-19 pandemic can be getting worse if countries do not follow basic precautions.

According to the World Health Organization's Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, too many countries are moving in the wrong direction, the virus remains the number one enemy.

On Sunday the US and Brazil reported 111,319 new cases, accounting for approximately half of all new cases reported worldwide.

The Director-General noted that there is a dangerous increase in COVID-19 cases in some countries.
