Moderna Inc CEO Stephane Bancel said he expects governments to decide how to distribute the COVID-19 vaccine given limited supply, Reuters reported.

Bancel noted that Moderna Inc could potentially work with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention or the Department of Defense to distribute it in the US.

“This is not for a private company to make those decisions. We will not have the right data to be able to make those important decisions,” he said.

Noubar Afeyan's Moberna Inc. experimental COVID-19 vaccine showed it is safe and induced an immune response in all 45 healthy volunteers at an early stage of the test.

Volunteers who received two doses of the vaccine had a high level of antibodies - above the average observed in people who had COVID-19, the vaccine development team told the New England Journal of Medicine.
