YEREVAN. - There are twenty seven official places for waste in ninety two communities near the lake Sevan in addition to uncontrolled waste dumps. According to Armenian Ministry of urban development, those places do not meet ecological and hygienic criteria. Dumps around lake Sevan are sources of pollution of water, soil and air and prevent the reconstruction and protection of ecosystem of the lake Sevan.

The share of azoth, phosphor and other toxic materials increased in the lake.

The Ministry of urban development presented a new scheme of places for waste near the Sevan to the government discussion. There will be only five places for waste, from where it will be taken to special plant for waste recirculation.
