The Hayots Ashkharh newspaper held a conversation with MP from the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Mkrtich Minasyan. 

ANC did not actually drop the demand of snap elections in Armenia. Is it a reason for a dialogue or an ultimatum?

“There are a few months left for next elections in Armenia and it is necessary to prepare for them. In this case, the ANC calls for early elections. No matter when, the ANC insists on its demands. This is a whim of the child, as it lacks logic,” he said.

“The organization of democratic elections will take time. A new Electoral Code was adopted according to which the electoral commission should be formed on a different principle. Many people have to take courses to work in these committees. I do not think that the ANC does not understand it. There are no political reasons for the early election in the country. Moreover, it is necessary to solve many legal and technical problems,” Minsayan said.
