YEREVAN. – Zhoghovurd newspaper of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes: The names of the members of the RA government are often connected with the manifestations of corruption.
For example, there have been publications repeatedly about newly appointed RA Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan and her husband's business interests and connections.
And on January 19, the Zhoghovurd daily had sent an inquiry to the prime minister's office and presented some facts about Avanesyan, former Minister [of Health] Arsen Torosyan and Minister of Justice Rustam Badasyan, trying to find out whether the prime minister considers these facts corruption and how he treats them.
And, comparing the facts, Zhoghovurd daily tried to get an official comment from RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to find out how he reacts to these manifestations of corruption in the case when he constantly voices about the fight against corruption.
And, days after our inquiry, we receive the following answer from the prime minister's office. "In response to your inquiry, we inform you that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has repeatedly expressed his position on the fight against corruption. And if any citizen or mass media outlet is aware of facts of manifestations of corruption, we urge to submit them to law enforcement agencies. In the fight against corruption, the government attaches special importance also to the activities and assistance of the mass media outlets."
However, let us note that there are many publications by the media, which the law enforcement can consider as an occasion for investigation and start investigations. So, it is already the turn of the law enforcement agencies.
