YEREVAN. - No external force wants to see resumption of hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh. Consequences of new hostilities may be grave especially for the initiating party, said Deputy Director of Caucasus Institute Sergey Minasyan.

The expert considers blitzkrieg is unlikely to break out, while losses will be huge if hostilities resume. If defeated, Azerbaijan will lose any hope for compromise, he said at a press conference on Friday.

“Peace in Karabakh is a matter of consensus reached by Paris, Moscow, Washington and Brussels. I do not think that Ilham Aliyev will make a step fraught with catastrophic consequences,” said Minasyan adding Azerbaijan does not have relevant military and technical possibilities.
