On February 26, Yerevan Police received a report from an MP informing that a person he did not know had cursed at him at the checkpoint of the National Assembly, addressing the fellow lawmakers of his parliamentary faction.

When the MP had tried to call this person to order, the latter had punched the lawmaker in the face, causing him physical pain.

The police have found out the identity of this person who had punched the MP. On February 27, this 47-year-old man, who was previously convicted, was found in Yerevan and taken to the police.

A criminal case has been launched into this incident.

The aforesaid man has been detained.

An investigation is underway.

To note, the aforementioned lawmaker is parliament majority My Step faction member Hakob Aslanyan, who was given a parliamentary mandate just two months ago.
