Elections to Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (Artsakh) local authority bodies will be held on September 18,
secretary of NKR central electoral commission Raya Nazaryan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

According to her, the elections will be held in 209 communities. Asked whether current mayor of Stepanakert Vazgen Melikyan will run for second term, secretary of the central election commission found it difficult to give a precise answer, explaining that the timing of the nomination and registration of candidates allotted in August.

 "Nominations are allowed from August 19 to August 24 and the registration process will run from August 24 to August 29," said Nazaryan.
