The Chinese Foreign Ministry announced the imposition of sanctions against a number of UK representatives and restrictions in response to sanctions against China from London, Interfax reports.
China has decided to impose sanctions on nine British employees and four organizations that are maliciously spreading lies and disinformation, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying noted.
According to the spokesperson, the British side has recently imposed unilateral sanctions against the relevant Chinese individuals and legal entities on the basis of lies and misinformation under the pretext of the so-called human rights problem in Xinjiang and it is a violation of international law and the basic norms of international relations.
China reserves the right to take further action, the MFA noted.
