YEREVAN. -  Armenia’s Public Services Regulatory Commission has not completed proceedings in the coffee market of Armenia, said Karine Poladyan, head of department on international cooperation.

However, “Royal Armenia” and “Viva Argo” companies which were fined for AMD 500,000 for not providing information.  

She said coffee production has a very high degree of concentration in the world, there are a few countries growing coffee. Consequently, the weather conditions have a major impact on world supply of coffee. Besides, the cultivation of coffee is a tough process, Poladyan added.

The Commission currently does not investigate the reasons for increase in coffee prices more focusing on overpricing.  Poladyan said suspicion aroused after the entities set separate prices.
