YEREVAN. - Chief of Armenia’s Police Service Alik Sargsyan thinks the policeman who shoots Armen Yengibaryan, 30, suspected in robbery, acted in accordance with law, Sargsyan told the journalists on Thursday.

 “I think all the actions of the policeman were legal and there was no violation,” stressed chief of police. “Such cases may happen every day. We should not focus on the question, why policeman did not shoot at the leg.”

Sargsyan also commented on Yengibaryan’s parents assertions that their son was never wanted and told that every parent thinks their child is innocent.

Armen Yengibaryan was fatally injured and died in the hospital after the shot by the policeman in Garegin Nzdeh subway station in Yerevan. Yengibaryan was suspected in robbery. He posed as an employee of water utility service. According to police, Yengibaryan was first who fired from his gun.
