YEREVAN. - Sixty video surveillance cameras will be installed in the center of Yerevan by the end of 2011. Afterwards they will be placed in other districts and regions of Armenia, chief Armenia’s police Alik Sargsyan told the journalists on Thursday.

In response to a remark whether it is violation of human rights, the police chief said that it comes from the interests of citizens.

“In particular, my interests will not be violated if the camera catches me and my family in a public place,” Sargsyan told.

Cameras will contribute to ensuring citizens’ security and crime prevention, added Sargsyan.
