YEREVAN. – Another meeting of Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents will follow Kazan talks soon, member of central department of Social Democratic Hunchakian party, member of Armenian National Congress Gurgen Yeghaizaryan told the journalists on Monday.

The sides will sign a document on Karabakh during that meeting, Yeghaizaryan belives.

“We could have serious expectations from Kazan meeting, however, they were not justified,” he stated and added that both Azerbaijani President and FM keep silent after the meeting, as opposed to earlier meetings on Karabagh. “We can assume that another meeting will follow to sign a document. Besides, societies of both states know less on what happens behind the scenes. There are talks concerning the return of five regions adjacent to Karabagh.”

At the same time, the second speaker, MP from ruling Republican party Rafik Petrosyan, has different point on Kazan meeting. He does not think it a failure as there is a jointly signed statement. Moreover, Armenian President has told in his speech still in PACE that success may be expected only if Azerbaijan shows positive attitude, Petrosyan added.

In response to Yeghiazaryan’s remark that Armenia needs to have strong and legitimate president to record shift in negotiations on Karabakh resolution, Petrosyan replied that whoever the president was, nothing would have changed in Azerbaijani attitude, as it plans to solve the problem only through military actions.
