YEREVAN. - There were no expectations about Armenian, Azerbaijani and Russian presidents’ meeting in Kazan due to Azerbaijan’s non-constructive stance on the Karabakh issue, chancellor of Armenian State Linguistic University, political scientist Suren Zolyan told reporters on Monday.

According to him, the allusion that Kazan would achieve a document’s signing on Karabakh was an information leak by the OSCE Minsk Group.

“However, the meeting was of importance in terms of apogee and dividing lines,” the expert stressed adding Armenia appeared in more advantageous positions following the leaders’ meeting. “Azerbaijan’s stance on Nagorno-Karabakh conflict resolution has not changed within the recent two years. If the Azerbaijan side agreed to the conflict resolution stage by stage before, Baku seeks an immediate solution to the problem now. Moreover, Azerbaijan is gaining time, hoping Armenia will come forward with new proposals over the time and the process will fail.”
