YEREVAN. - Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan met with U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Russia/Ukraine/Eurasia Celeste Wallander on Thursday.

‘‘U.S. involvement in our region is a stability ensuring factor. We are satisfied with the progress in certain areas of bilateral cooperation and will work to ensure greater strengthening of economic trade ties,’’ said Serzh Sargsyan.

Celeste Wallander marked that she is on her second visit to Armenia, adding that she had excellent meetings. She highly emphasized the importance of Armenia’s participation in international peacemaking campaigns, stressing the increase of Armenian peacemaker’s numbers in Afghanistan.
